Production engineering for furniture manufacturers

Exact by design. Repeatable by process.

We turn furniture designs into products a factory can make, repeat and scale. From the designer's concept to engineering, CNC programming, prototyping and series production, every stage is developed for the client's own machinery and delivered as one integrated package the client owns.

Services

Engineering between the designer's drawing and the factory floor.

Product engineering

Every piece modelled as a validated solid, with joints, tolerances and assembly resolved for solid wood, veneer, stone, glass and metal. Structural simulation proves it carries its loads before a prototype is made.

  • Parametric 3D
  • Joinery
  • Static stress analysis
  • Nonlinear static stress
  • Structural buckling
  • Production drawings

CAD/CAM, CNC and robot programming

Each product is broken down into components, with fixtures, templates and stock defined for every part. Machining is programmed for 3- to 12-axis CNC and robot cells, and validated on the machine, not only in simulation.

  • Component breakdown
  • Fixtures
  • Templates
  • Stock definition
  • 3- to 12-axis CNC
  • Tooling
  • Robot programming

Prototyping and quality control

The first prototype is built on the client's own machines, and every part is checked against the CAD model. Design adjustments go back into the engineering model, and the process is reworked until the piece is right.

  • On-site prototype
  • Program validation
  • Inspection against CAD
  • Design iteration

Industrialisation and transfer

Once the prototype is approved, the design is frozen and the process rebuilt for series production, with final programs, fixtures and operation sheets. We stay on site for the first run and train the operators.

  • Design freeze
  • Series programs
  • Production fixtures
  • Operation sheets
  • On-site start-up
  • Operator training
  • Plant transfer
